About my program study.

Imagen
Well, since you ask me ... Regarding the Theory and History of Art program, which considers 4 years plus a semester of thesis, I believe that it would modify it for the most part. I think it is a career very far from reality, both in Latin America and in the workplace. In addition, Theory and History of ART is a pretentious name, since it is especially pictorial art and its contemporary manifestations. Most of the asignatures respond to the universal artistic history, and by universal is understood European. On the other hand, the Latin American asignatures are quite few and respond more to a history of artistic thought than to artistic production as such. Personally, I think this is due to the colonial fiction of distinguishing art and crafts. As for the estructures of the faculty, they seem very poor. As a good reflection of Chile, the University of Chile, in the Faculty of Arts, does not invest money and they always talk about an economic crisis. The basement rooms that the career h...

An opinion of abortion

Imagen
Hello! At this time i will give my opinion on a proposed topic. I will do it regarding the legalization of abortion, which I consider should be: Safe, legal, free and gratuitous. As a woman and as a feminist it seems to me that access to free abortion should be a right. I think there are a thousand reasons. The three causes that are discussed in Chile are not enough, since there must be the right to choose over one's own body, in addition, the decriminalization for unfeasibility of the fetus, risk of life of the mother, or rape, only covers the 3% of those who abort. Nor is it about forcing someone who does not want an abortion, but about guaranteeing pregnancies and desired children. In addition, it is also a matter of access, abortion has a class character, since it is known that women or people with a uterus who have money and contacts can easily and safely access an abortion, while those who do not, must do it clandestinely, without the basic conditions and therefore putting hi...

laboral future?

Today I will talk about the job I would like to have, although the truth is that it is a subject that generates me anxiety, because I decided to study Art History, and in this country art does not seem to be for everyone and the monetary remmuentarion is not fair to the workers, so thinking about a living wage is something very abstract. ‘‘Monetary resources that are assigned to Culture, is no longer placed in another program or need’’ those words are from the current Chilean Minister of Culture Consuelo Valdés.   But hey. I studied Arts because it makes sense to me. Now that I have acquired tools to think about it, I believe it is a place where interesting questions are discussed and that do not necessarily depend on reason or logic, although they can be easily institutionalized and manipulated, but that is another story. I would like to convene an artistic space in Coihueco, the city where I live. It is a fairly rural sector with a high rate of poverty and low literacy. Obviously...

Dowton Abbey

Imagen
Today I'm going to talk about a series that I find a visual pleasure. I say this in the sense of its wonderful scenery, its excellent scenographic setting, the costumes, the makeup, the decoration and all the elements that compose it. Besides that, it has a plot as meticulous as its details. Downton Abbey is a dramatic British series produced by Carnival Films and Masterpiece for ITV and PBS. The series shows the passing of a family of the British aristocracy, as well as the passing of the servants of said house.   We could say that the conflict around which the series develops are social positions and money. The central problem is unleashed by the mayorazgo law, since due to the sinking of the Titanic and with it the inheritor, the Crawley family is left without a candidate and even without the right to live in the country house since there are only daughters in the family. The development of the characters is amazing. They are very dynamic and complex characters. It is interestin...

Concert by Ana Tijoux

Imagen
Hello! on this occasion I will tell a very good experience  One hot day, I was bored at home when an image came to me on  wtsp, announcing a presentation by Ana Tijoux at Villa Francia, within the framework of popular cultural events that proliferated after the revolt. I spoke to a friend and how we were close we decided to go. Villa Francia is an emblematic sector located in Central Station, Santiago. It is a great memory. I do not know if it is considered a concert as such, since the meeting had an intention more of political denunciation than of entertainment. It was very exciting to see her live and we were also very close. Ana Tijoux is a French Chilean singer-songwriter, feminist and activist for social causes. She is an important Latin American rapper. He sang for a long time, even one of his songs was sung by a little neighbor from the village. The funniest moment was when she sang "Cacerolazo" and the audio of Cecilia Morel sounded, saying that an alien attack was co...

I would like to visit...

Imagen
Hi! In this first blog we should talk about a place we want to visit. I would like to visit Mexico. The relationship with death that Mexican culture has made me rethink my relationship with death. This is why I would go there. Specifically to Aguas Calientes, on the date that the "Festival of the skulls" is celebrated on the occasion of the Day of the Dead wich last's 10 days. also this event is in honor of the painter José Guadalupe Posada, who immortalized La Catrina with his brush, Aguas Calientes becomes a meeting place for different cultural events that revolve around this theme. I would like to stay a while and learn about pre-Hispanic culture, especially what refers to the legend of Quetzalcóatl, the feathered serpent from its visual manifestation. I would like to take an Art history course at the National Autonomous University of Mexico I would also like to participate in meetings and demonstrations of the feminist movement that the Mexican comrades hav...
